The Shakespeare Agility 2 Match Reels range offers something for everyone. There are four dedicated match reels as well as three dedicated saltwater spinning reels and three long cast reels under the 2017 Shakespeare Agility 2 banner.
The match quartet consist of 35 and 40 size – FD front drag and RD rear drag designs.
They have 6+1 ball bearings and aluminium push button spools taking 242 m of 0.18 mm line and 265 m of 0.18 mm line respectively. Gear ratios according to Shakespeare are 5.2:1.
The 35 Match also comes with a graphite spare spool that’ll hold 178 m of 0.28 mm and the 40 Match, a spare spool taking 205 m of 0.28 mm, should you want to rig up with a heavier outfit.
As well as match and feeder techniques, including bagging on commercials on the likes of the pellet waggler and method feeder, these rugged reels also look like they will cross over to a bit of lure work too.
Looking around I’ve seen them nearer £35 that £45, which does look like a good deal. Well done again to Shakespeare for value.
