Salomon Sense Jacket: first impressions
Straight out of the packet, the stylish Salomon Sense Jacket impressed us with its looks and feel. It has a tapered fit. The fabric is beautiful to touch and very soft on the skin. It has laser cut air holes for breathability and is water repellent and wind resistant.
The Salomon Sense was by far one of the lightest products we tested for our best running jackets buying guide, so much so that it doesn’t feel like you are wearing a jacket. It folds away into a tiny pocket and can be stored easily. This jacket comes in a number of colorways, but all of them light, so I would avoid wearing it on wet trails as I would fear that it would get covered in mud and would be difficult to clean.

Salomon Sense Jacket: on the trails
This minimalist jacket doesn’t have any pockets or a hood so we typically wear it as an extra layer on warmer and dryer days, rather than as an outer shell in more challenging conditions.
This Salomon Sense Jacket is perfect for those early morning chilly starts, when you can whip it off later into the run, when conditions warm up, or for those chilly evening runs in the city. It is the softest running jacket we’ve ever experienced and looks the best on, but we avoid wearing it on wet muddy trails and in very poor weather.
We particularly loved this jacket during the summer months and in the early part of autumn. However, as the weather worsened, we usually reached for something a bit more substantial (see: best waterproof jackets). It's not the best waterproof on the market but it is perfect for the odd shower.
